Organizing...

I re-read "Getting Things Done" book by David Allen yesterday and I started doing the things he suggested. It took me two days to get my stuff all organized accordingly. I am very tired but it feels good to see everything working well.

I like some of the quotes from the book:

* "You have more to do than you can possibly do. You just need to feel good about your choices"
* "The big problem is that your mind keeps reminding you of things when you can't do anything about them" * "Your ability to generate power is directly proportional to your ability to relax"

Getting Things Done...

These days my typical day is like this:

6.30 am go to work
9.30 pm come home and sleep.

I started reading this book (although it is going really slow). Some of the ideas helped me get organized (especially my office space), but it does not have the short-step-by-step list that will get you started right away.

My best friend asked me to hang out during the week-day evenings. Being so busy finally helped me because I really want to avoid her. It has been about 1 month that I haven't seen her, and I don't intend to see her for another month, if possible more...

The Decay of The Angel

Yukio Mishima committed seppuku the day he finished this last book. When I read the book and his life story, I empathize with his rationale.

In the book, Honda, 78-year old Judge believes that 16-year-old Toru is the third reincarnation of his dead friend, and so he adopts him. I think Toru is Mishima's 16-year-old self.

The five signs of the decay of an angel are:

1. The flowery crown withers,
2. Sweat pours from the armpits,
3. The robe is soiled,
4. They lose self-awareness, or become dissatisfied with their station, and
5. The body becomes fetid or ceases to give off light, or the eyelids tremble.

Waiting Period

I have just started reading this book on the bus. A guy is planning suicide because he has no purpose in life. He decides to buy a gun and blow his head off, but because of a software problem he has to wait for a couple of days. While waiting for the gun, he finally finds his purpose in life: Rather than killing an innocent person (himself), why not kill others who really deserve to die.

The story started really funny when he thought of all the suicide methods (just like me a month ago :))  Nice to have a purpose in my life right now !!! :D

The quote on the first page: "everything has a purpose on this earth, and all things fulfill their purpose- seaweed, dung beetles, parasites- without agonizing or questioning. We are the only part of Creation that is blinded by desires and thus ignore our particular purpose, individually and collectively, and spend our lives in mad pursuit of nothingness"  (G. Llewelyn-Jones)

Update: I finished reading it, it did not end as I expected. Hmmm...
