I have just started reading this book on the bus. A guy is planning suicide because he has no purpose in life. He decides to buy a gun and blow his head off, but because of a software problem he has to wait for a couple of days. While waiting for the gun, he finally finds his purpose in life: Rather than killing an innocent person (himself), why not kill others who really deserve to die.
The story started really funny when he thought of all the suicide methods (just like me a month ago :)) Nice to have a purpose in my life right now !!! :D
The quote on the first page: "everything has a purpose on this earth, and all things fulfill their purpose- seaweed, dung beetles, parasites- without agonizing or questioning. We are the only part of Creation that is blinded by desires and thus ignore our particular purpose, individually and collectively, and spend our lives in mad pursuit of nothingness" (G. Llewelyn-Jones)
Update: I finished reading it, it did not end as I expected. Hmmm...
